Arne Slot “impressed” by one Liverpool star in Fulham draw
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot heaped praise on Ryan Gravenberch for his sensational performance against Fulham in the 2-2 draw. The Reds faced a hectic game against the West London team after Andy Robertson received an early 17th-minute red card.
Liverpool had already conceded a goal by that time with the players already frustrated by numerous bad referee calls earlier. Issa Diop and Andreas Perreira survived a straight red card for their reckless and harmful fouls on Robertson and Gravenberch.
The Reds head coach Arne Slot refused to make any changes and kept the faith in the players who started. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder not only survived a horror tackle from Perreira but played a pivotal role for the Reds.

Gravenberch dictated the game alongside his available teammates and nullified the spaces despite the numerical supremacy of the in-form Cottagers. The Dutch international delivered a sensational and tireless performance, helping Liverpool come from behind twice against all the adversities.
Speaking to the media (via YouTube), Slot praised Gravenberch for maintaining his sensational form for Liverpool against Fulham that he has enjoyed since the start of this season. He said:
“Impressed, like everyone who was in the stadium or saw the game. Ryan did outstanding again today. Without the ball, he was mostly in our last line, had to play sometimes against a nine, against wingers who are really fast. And with the ball, he came into the midfield. An outstanding performance from him.”
According to Sofascore, Gravenberch had 83 touches with 96% passing accuracy during the game as Liverpool dictated 61% possession. The 22-year-old delivered a 100% accurate long ball and made two successful dribble attempts despite Fulham’s one-man advantage.
Gravenberch won 100% of his aerial duels (three) and also won five out of 10 ground duels, earning one foul. The Dutch international’s defensive display helped the club nullify Fulham’s attack with three interceptions, two tackles, one blocked shot and one clearance.

A season-long consistency is the last obstacle for Gravenberch to reach the level that justifies his massive potential. The Dutchman is only 22 years of age and has a lot of room for improvement despite his incredible performances. Gravenberch is pivotal for Liverpool to achieve any trophies this season and justify their sensational form under Slot.
