TKT Opinion- Liverpool superstar continues to silence ignorant detractors

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah breaks another Premier League record against Tottenham Hotspur, leaving no room for his naysayers to make any counter-argument. The Liverpool right-back has maintained his domination in all competitions this season despite facing constant disregard from the European media.
Liverpool beat Spurs 3-6 in the Premier League showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to secure three points. They needed this victory after grinding out two tough draws in the Premier League games against Fulham and Newcastle United.
This victory and Chelsea’s draw with Everton allowed the Reds to build a four-point advantage with a game in hand. Salah has played a pivotal role as a top goal scorer and creator along with his leadership position at Liverpool
Salah told Liverpoolfc.com that he is proud of making Premier League history with Liverpool by reaching double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas. He said:
“I didn’t think about it before the game, to be fair, but I’m glad I did it. [It’s] something that makes me happy. I’m proud and I’ll just keep working hard.”
The 32-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 16 games in the Premier League this season. He has also scored 18 goals and 15 assists in all competitions this season, displaying his dominance in all tournaments.
Either bigotry or lack of football knowledge: Reasons behind continuous disregard of Salah’s achievement
The Egypt captain joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 under the reign of legendary manager Jurgen Klopp. Salah immediately impacted and showcased his proficiency in front of the goal and dominance in the final third.

Nevertheless, many on social media called him a one-season wonder, raising debate in the British press about Salah’s longevity. Salah continued to let his football do the talking, scoring endless goals and influencing the play season after season.
In 2021, the Egyptian legend broke Didier Drogba’s record for the most goals from an African in Premier League history. However, that record-breaking feat only invited debate about the best African players in England or throughout African history.
Former Everton forward Yakubu refused to accept Salah as the greatest African to play in the Premier League, claiming Drogba “scored for fun”. The hilarious statement made no sense as the response to the Egypt international’s record-breaking feat.
Eden Hazard’s disastrous tenure at Real Madrid and eventual retirement raised the topic of the best right-winger ever in England. Once again people ridiculed the notion of Salah beating Hazard in the competition until Hazard admitted himself.
The 32-year-old showed similar prolific form last year for the Reds and his country but failed to make it to the top-30 list of Ballon d’Or. This is another big example of media personnel completely disregarding the consistent impact of the Egyptian legend.
Recently, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher incurred the wrath of the Kopites by targeting Salah over the contract saga. Carragher also chose Kevin De Bruyne as the best player in the Premier League in recent history. Furthermore, he chose Cole Palmer as the best player at the moment over Liverpool’s attacking legend who is continuously making history.
At the same time, Arsenal fans continue to hype up their best player Bukayo Saka as better than Salah. This season, the 32-year-old has already surpassed Saka’s best-ever goals plus assists figures for Arsenal in a whole season.
Mohamed Salah: The Liverpool legacy
There is no denying that Liverpool fans adore their Egyptian king and are very grateful for his service. In recent history, Salah is next to legendary captain Steven Gerrard while some argue that his legacy is at par with the Scouse midfielder.

Nevertheless, the Egyptian forward has etched an everlasting legacy in the Premier League that surpasses many former legends. If anyone wants to tarnish all of these achievements, they are tarnishing the name of the beautiful game itself that strives to stand above any bigotry or ignorance.
