With 2025 just around the corner, it’s clear that Liverpool are the best team in Europe this season and are on the path to claiming the Premier League title. Their 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day has put them seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The race for the league is heating up, but Liverpool are currently outpacing most of their competition by a significant margin.

Arsenal have shown moments of vulnerability, Manchester City appear far from their best, and while Chelsea are improving, Enzo Maresca believes they are still not ready to compete for the title. On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have endured disappointing seasons and currently sit in the bottom half of the table. Now, pundits like Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen, and Andy Townsend have shared their views on Liverpool’s position and how they measure up against their title rivals.

Owen Hargreaves boldly claims Liverpool ‘don’t have a weakness’

Since their loss to Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 4, Liverpool has faced moments of struggle and close encounters, but they have never faltered enough to lose a game.

Hargreaves, speaking on Premier League Productions, stated that Liverpool are currently the only Premier League team without a weakness. He pointed out that despite Leicester’s early goal, it always felt like Liverpool would come out on top. According to Hargreaves, the team’s goalkeeper, defence, midfield, and attack are all solid, with their attacking prowess standing out.

He praised Liverpool’s brilliant manager for his emotional intelligence and timely decision-making, noting that they are steamrolling their competition. Meanwhile, Michael Owen echoed these sentiments, saying Liverpool were simply too good and are looking very assured at the top of the table.

“Even though Leicester scored first, you knew Liverpool were going to win, really,” he said.

“I think they’re the only team in the Premier League without a weakness. Goalkeeper, defence, midfield, attack. Best attack by a country mile.

“Brilliant manager, emotionally intelligent, makes decisions at the right time. They’re steamrollering everybody right now.”
