Napoli enter race for £13m Liverpool ace with 123 minutes of game time under his belt

Liverpool are yet to make any significant investment in their roster since Arne Slot took over the reins at L4, with the chiefs at Kirkby only bringing in Italian international Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window.

Chiesa moved to the English top tier in a deal just worth £13m after he was training alone at Juventus, with Thiago Motta not having plans to include the Italian in his roster.

Chiesa – A market opportunity that didn’t work out at L4

Liverpool star Federico Chiesa played 45 minutes against Southampton during the tough 1-2 away victory.
Liverpool ace Federico Chiesa could leave Anfield this winter.

Bringing in the former Fiorentina ace was more of a market opportunity that the Merseysiders decided to take; however, it didn’t work out as anticipated, with the 27-year-old only playing once in the Premier League and aggregating just four appearances in all competitions, which comes down to 123 minutes of game time under his belt.

And looking at his situation at L4, multiple clubs are looking to snap up his signature in the ongoing winter transfer window. Italian giants Napoli have also registered interest in securing the 27-year-old’s signature, per French outlet Foot Mercato.

The Naples-based side is pushing for a Scudetto title at the moment, and getting their hands on a Serie A proven talent like Chiesa can be the difference between them going all the way. That being said, it is to be seen if Napoli second their interest in Chiesa with a potentially acceptable offer in the ongoing window.

Chiesa would be hungry to get going and find some game time under his belt, something he hasn’t been able to do at Liverpool. He would be hoping a transfer carves itself out this month.
