Liverpool youngster redeems himself with a dominant display under Slot
Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah delivered a redeeming performance against LOSC Lille under Arne Slot in the 2-1 Champions League victory. Quansah is one of the few players who has struggled to perform in the first season of Slot at Liverpool.
The 21-year-old defender played next to captain Virgil van Dijk as Slot made a few key changes to rotate his squad. Liverpool maintained control of all the areas in most of the games with 56% possession, limiting opponents to four shots.
Lille had only one shot on target, which turned into a goal after a complacent moment from right-back Conor Bradley. Nevertheless, the Reds maintain their dominance in defence to secure their seventh consecutive victory in the Champions League this season.

Fotmob data revealed that Quansah completed the most passes (99) in the match, enjoying 96% passing accuracy against the visitors. He had 111 touches, delivered four passes into the final third and had 60% long-ball accuracy, showcasing his ability in possession.
In defence, the 21-year-old made five clearances, and five recoveries while making a headed clearance along with completing five defensive actions. Quansah also won 100% of his ground and aerial duels while winning one foul against the French side at Anfield.
The Liverpool academy product also showcased his incredible aerial ability by almost scoring a headed goal from a corner kick. The ball almost grazed the top of the opposition’s crossbar but showcased his incredible movement and height advantage over others.
Liverpool are at the top of the Champions League group stage after winning all of their matches, conceding two goals. With only one Champions League group stage game left against PSV Eindhoven, Quansah could return to the starting lineup again.
