Slot makes history as Liverpool reaches 60 points
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot created a special record despite their unconvincing victory over Wolves in the Premier League clash. The Reds beat the Wanderers 2-1 at Anfield after scoring two first-half goals through Luis Diaz and legend Mohamed Salah.
However, Liverpool failed to register a single shot in the second half, defending desperately to keep Wolves from scoring two. Liverpool failed to secure three points against Everton in a controversial game when the bitter rivals scored a late goal.
Everton’s goal came after two minutes of extra time and involved a potential offside along with a foul on Ibrahima Konate. Slot’s men needed to secure three points against Wolves to maintain a seven-point lead over Arsenal in the Premier League.

The three points play a crucial psychological role as Liverpool needs to continue winning even in games where they struggled. During the second half against the Wolves, the atmosphere of extreme stress challenged the mentality of the Liverpool players.
The situation also provided a warning to the Reds as they cannot afford to have a similar drop in performance which they suffered last season. As things stand, Liverpool have continued to deliver above expectations under Slot despite the insurmountable odds that they have faced.
OptaJoe revealed (via X) that Slot is the second manager in the Premier League’s history to secure 60 points from the first 25 matches. The only manager ahead of him is Chelsea legend Jose Mourinho who secured 64 points from his first 25 matches.
Many pundits and fans downplayed Liverpool’s chances to challenge for the top four, let alone the Premier League title. They argued that Slot is succeeding a legendary manager in Jurgen Klopp which is a daunting task.
