Liverpool intensify pursuit of French Under-21 star
Liverpool are on course to win the Premier League and will face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final, a competition they have historically dominated. While the squad appears well-balanced on paper, several weaknesses have gone unnoticed in regular matches but became evident during both legs against PSG, where they suffered a humiliating defeat. To secure long-term success, the club must strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window.
TBR Football reports that interest in Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi has surged among multiple Premier League clubs, including Liverpool. Previously, TBR Football revealed that Arsenal had been highly impressed with Bouaddi, but several other clubs have now joined the race to monitor his development.

Bouaddi, the 17-year-old midfielder from Lille, is going to make noise someday. He has become one of the new names in France, probably the whole of Europe as well.
In Lille’s Champions League Round of 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund, he earned a spot in the starting lineup— a clear sign of the club’s faith in his abilities. With three assists to his name in the tournament, his performances have started attracting significant attention. Several clubs are now closely monitoring his progress.
Liverpool enter battle with Prem rivals for the midfield sensation
Lille’s academy graduate may not be ready to move outside France just yet, but his future remains uncertain, as a lucrative contract offer could change everything. Sources informed Graeme Bailey, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Brighton have all scouted Ayyoub Bouaddi.
TBR Football also reports that these Premier League clubs have received highly positive feedback on the teenager.
However, interest in Bouaddi extends beyond England, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig also monitoring him this year. Despite the growing attention, Lille are reluctant to part ways with Bouaddi, especially with Angel Gomes and Jonathan David set to leave on free transfers this summer.
The French Under-21 star won’t turn 18 until October, meaning a move to the Premier League wouldn’t be possible until 2026, even if an English club made an approach.
This season, Bouaddi has showcased impressive versatility for Lille, playing as an attacking midfielder, a holding midfielder, and even a central defender.
