Neville admits: Liverpool “the biggest club in England” as they take back the perch

Gary Neville admits Liverpool are the biggest club in England after securing their 20th title against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The Reds beat the Spurs 5-1 at home in the Premier League clash after delivering a dominant performance at Anfield.
Tottenham opened the scoreline with a surprise goal from a corner kick, courtesy of Dominic Solanke in the 12th minute. However, Liverpool bounced back immediately after Luis Diaz scored a 16th-minute goal, followed by Alexis Mac Allister’s incredible 24th-minute goal.
Cody Gakpo scored the third goal in the first half, with Mohamed Salah adding the fourth in the second half. Liverpool ended the rout in the 69th minute of the game when the Lilywhites’ Destiny Udogie scored an own goal.

The Reds fans have waited more than a decade for this moment after Sir Alex Ferguson guided Man United to their 20th title. At that point, no one expected Liverpool to return to the top as quickly as they have done. Liverpool have won two Premier League titles in six years, despite a far less net spend compared to their competitive rivals.
Through all the obstacles and the changing nature of modern football, the Merseyside club persisted along with its traditional values. In recent English history, Liverpool are the only club to challenge the dominance of Manchester City without equal financial power.
Speaking to Sky Sports before the Tottenham game, Neville admitted that Liverpool have ended the debate involving Manchester United after equaling them with the 20th league title. He said:
“Liverpool have more European Cups and today will equal Manchester United’s 20 league titles – the debate is over. Liverpool’s success should cause pain and heartache.”
Neville is the face of Man United in the media, often facing criticism for his bias towards his former club. However, the United legends’ admission speaks volumes, and Liverpool respects him for giving credit where credit is due. It is the same way Liverpool gave Man United credit before saddling up to take back the perch.
