Will Liverpool sign £51m star for Slot, who Jurgen Klopp deeply admired?

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot wants West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen, who was once highly admired by Jurgen Klopp. Bowen has continued to play a pivotal role for the Hammers despite their downfall this season in the Premier League.
West Ham are currently 17th in the Premier League table after playing 34 matches, with 16 losses to their name. However, Bowen cannot take the sole blame for their poor form as he has continued to fight hard for them.
The 28-year-old has played in several positions according to the requirement of his manager, a commonality for the versatile attacker. Despite the collective form, the England international has made a significant contribution for the Hammers, doing his best in attack.

The 28-year-old has made 32 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and nine assists this season. Legendary Liverpool manager Klopp once revealed that Bowen is his favourite player outside of his squad at that time.
Liverpool have long admired the Englishman, but his inflated price kept them away from taking any concrete action in the market. According to Fichajes, Slot wants Liverpool to sign Bowen from West Ham next summer, something that Klopp failed to achieve.
West Ham want around €60 million (£51m) for Bowen, which is a reasonable price for the attacker in his prime. However, the age factor remains a crucial deterrent for the Reds, who prefer signing young players they can mould accordingly.
Nevertheless, Bowen’s quality and versatility are proven in the Premier League, and he should adjust comfortably to Slot’s unique demands. Liverpool could sign multiple attackers during the summer transfer window, depending on the future of certain players in their squad.

Darwin Nunez’s future is most uncertain among the attackers at the moment, but Diogo Jota could also leave the club. Both attackers have struggled with consistency throughout this season, which proved costly as Liverpool endured eliminations from all the cup competitions.
