Harvey Elliott provides the key factors determining his future at Liverpool

Liverpool star Harvey Elliott outlines his desire to stay at the club despite struggling to get significant games this season. New head coach Arne Slot has relied upon select key players to start to maintain the momentum and team chemistry.
Elliott impressed the former Feyenoord boss during the pre-season but suffered an injury during the early stages of the season. As the Reds enjoyed a strong early-season form, Slot used the remaining senior squad only in certain cup competition games.
Liverpool have successfully secured their 20th League title in Slot’s first season as the head coach, but faced several failures. Persisting fatigue and poor consistency from several key starters cost the Reds all the cup competitions despite the strong start.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Elliott highlighted his desire to stay at the club even after his struggling season. He said:
“You never know what is going to happen around the corner. If I had it my way, that would be here, I would play each and every game here and stay here for the rest of my career but it all depends on managers, the people above and as I said you don’t know what could happen but as far as I am aware I am here, here to stay and this is the club I want to be at. Hopefully I am still here to be honest. It is the best place to be, the best club to be at and especially having the fans around us at the moment, I don’t think there is a better place to be playing. Players go through ups and downs but at the end of the day you have to come out fighting and I think it is within myself to make it happen. So hopefully I can stay here for the rest of my career.”
Elliott has already acquired a lot of senior team experience at Liverpool under the legendary manager Jurgen Klopp. At just 22 years of age, the young Englishman has all the qualities and potential to turn his fortunes around.
Furthermore, Elliott has earned praise from the Liverpool fans for making an impact whenever he played this season. At the same time, there are a few games where Elliott has struggled, but many mitigating factors, like lack of momentum and the team’s collective struggle, played a key role.
The 22-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, contributing four goals and providing two assists. Despite the Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle United, Elliott made an incredible late effort to start a potential comeback.

The 22-year-old created the only Liverpool goal in that game from Federico Chiesa, along with several other big opportunities. Elliott’s teammate, Curtis Jones, who also struggled with form at that time, missed some of those opportunities.
Given the relationship between Liverpool fans and Elliott, the majority of the fanbase are hoping for his success at Anfield. Rest assured, there is a good argument that Slot should balance first-team continuity with a little more rotation to avoid fatigue next season.
