Alisson produced a moment of genius in our win over Brighton & Hove Albion when he chipped the ball over Anthony Knockaert and calmly passed it to Virgil van Dijk.

The former Roma man also produced a great save at the end to ensure we bagged all of three points over Chris Hughton’s men.

However, Jurgen Klopp spoke about that chip over the Brighton player and claimed that Alisson has the confidence to pull off such flicks.

The manager was quoted by BT Sport as saying:

“I had a few centre-halves who were able to do things a centre-half should not do, like Mats Hummels (at Borussia Dortmund) constantly doing things which made no sense but he was really good in there.

“Alisson is obviously a goalkeeper who can play football, which is good. He’s confident enough to do it. He didn’t do it for showing off, he did it to sort the situation.

“He has a nice level of confidence, so he uses that. I like the save from the header more than the chip, but the chip was the right thing to do in that situation.”

The Brazilian has had a great start to his Liverpool career with three clean sheets from the opening three Premier League games.

Alisson pulled off a great save against Crystal Palace from a free-kick and was confident in the box, swatting almost every corner or cross that came his way.

There will be tougher tests for the Brazilian in the coming weeks but for now, we seem to have bought an incredible player for the side.
