Jurgen Klopp claimed that Liverpool could require 105 points to win the Premier League this season. The Reds were brilliant in their 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and moved four points clear of Manchester City.

The Cityzens failed to cut down that gap after losing to Crystal Palace today. The Reds sit on 48 points from 18 games, but Klopp believes we have to keep the pace going for the rest of the season (h/t Sky Sports):

“So far it looks like a really special season, 48 points before Christmas is crazy.

“But there are other teams. Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, will probably win, so then they have 40-something points, nobody is dropping points down to fifth or sixth. You will probably need 105 to be champions at the end of the season, you don’t know.”

The German added that the club is in a decent position but cannot take anything for granted and celebrate too early.

Liverpool are yet to lose this season in the Premier League and have drawn just three out of their first 18 league games this season.

Our next game is against Newcastle United on Boxing Day. A couple of huge games against Arsenal and Manchester City away come after that.

Those two games will be crucial to us keeping our title dreams on and defeating the pair could reduce Klopp’s 105 point prediction.
