Latest Liverpool news: Mane leads nation to win but Firmino’s Brazil draws with Panama
It was a mixed night for some of Liverpool’s first-team players away on international duty.
Brazil had three Liverpool stars in the game against Panama, but only Roberto Firmino started. Alisson and Fabinho were unused substitutes on the bench against the Central American side.
Lucas Paqueta opened the scoring in the 32nd minute but the South American giants were shocked when Adolfo Machado equalised.
Firmino played 60 minutes in the game as Brazil were held to a surprising 1-1 draw.
Mane helps Senegal to win
Sadio Mane was in action for Senegal in an AFCON qualifier and his team picked up a 2-0 win over Madagascar.
The win kept the side on top of their group and they ended this phase with five wins and one draw.
Mane has been the man in form for Liverpool recently. The Senegalese has found the back of the net 10 times in his last 10 games.
The Reds have a difficult game against Tottenham on 31 March at Anfield. Liverpool had the upper hand on the London side earlier in the season when we beat them at Wembley, and we have to be at our best on Sunday too.
