Liverpool FC transfer news: Kai Havertz keeps options open regarding Leverkusen exit
Kai Havertz is having a stellar season for Bayern Leverkusen. The 19-year-old has 13 goals and 6 assists in all competitions this season and recently played for Germany during the international break.
The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds have been linked with the attacking midfielder with Arsenal and Bayern Munich also keeping tabs on the teenager.
Havertz would not come on the cheap as the club want more than £80million for the German (h/t Liverpool Echo) and the 19-year-old spoke about the recent transfer speculation.
The German told that he was contracted with Leverkusen until 2022 and wants to help his club finish the season well.
However, the 19-year-old claimed there would be more to come in the summer with some things being shared in the media being true (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“There is a lot of speculation, but I still have a contract here until 2022.
“In the summer we know more. I do not believe everything that’s in the paper, there’s a lot of talk in general, some things are true, some are not.”
Havertz flying high again
Leverkusen have some of the best young talents in the Bundesliga, with Leon Bailey and Julian Brandt supporting Havertz.
This is the German’s best season for Leverkusen in terms of goals as he only scored three last season. The attacker also had eight assists to his name in the previous campaign and seems set to beat that stat this time around.
The 19-year-old can also play on the wings and has the potential to become world-class in the coming seasons.

Liverpool have been linked with Brandt in the past, and either of them at Anfield would be great.
