Liverpool FC transfer news: Nabil Fekir could leave Lyon in the summer
Nabil Fekir has kept the door open over leaving Lyon in the summer. The Frenchman was close to signing for Liverpool last season but the transfer failed after a problem in his medical (h/t Mirror).
Fekir still won the World Cup with the national side and has been excellent for Lyon this season.
The 25-year-old has 12 goals and 7 assists in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side, and told Telefoot (h/t Mirror) that he could be on his way out of the club:
“Liverpool? It’s part of a player’s career, but it makes you stronger and you have to move forward.
“I really don’t know what I will do [next summer] but as I said I feel good in Lyon, the president trusts me, that’s good. You will see [if I extend my contract].”
Another link with Fekir?
The Liverpool Echo also reported that several fans noted a link between Fekir and the Reds recently. The French attacker’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, donated to Michael Edwards’ Just Giving page.
The report claims that Bernes donated £1,000 as Edwards prepares to run the London Marathon.
Liverpool haven’t signed a replacement for Philippe Coutinho yet and Fekir would be the ideal star to take up the Brazilian’s place.
However, Liverpool have improved vastly since Coutinho was sold, and it will be interesting to see what our activity will be in the summer window.

There have been instances where the Reds have struggled to break down tight defences, and Fekir would have been handy in those situations.
