Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds interested in Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser
The Independent (h/t Express) reports that Liverpool are interested in Bournemouth attacker Ryan Fraser. The Scottish international had a wonderful season with the Cherries, registering 14 Premier League assists.
The 25-year-old was only second to Eden Hazard in that column and even found the back of the net seven times in the league.
The report claims that Bournemouth are looking to get at least £30m for the attacker with his former club Aberdeen set to earn 20% of that amount as part of a sell-on fee.
Arsenal are also interested in the 25-year-old and seem to be in a better position to close a deal for Fraser, according to the report.
Competition for places at Anfield
Fraser would find it difficult to get regular starts at Anfield given the form of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane over the past two seasons.
The pair shared the Golden Boot with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season and the report claims that Liverpool would not be able to provide regular football to the Scot.
The report adds that Arsenal are ready to make their move for the Scot, who has just one year left on his deal, and it will be interesting to see if Bournemouth sell their star or risk losing him for free at the end of next season.
Fraser would be a great option to have on the bench, thanks to his pace and creativity in the final third. Salah and Mane need to be rested in some games, and we need to sign a winger in the summer.
