Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico is set to be available for purchase this summer and from the looks of it we may have a Merseyside battle to see who lands him as per Sunday Express.
Sergio Rico is a highly rated 22-year-old goalkeeper who helped Sevilla win the Europa league last year. Now the club is ready to cash in on the player and the asking price is said to be £15 million. Liverpool are interested in adding him to their squad but faces competition from Everton who have been monitoring him since the departure of Howard to Colorado Rapids. Southampton are also interested but the understanding is that the player could prefer Anfield over other destinations.
The current Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has come under staunch criticism for his inconsistent performance this season and even though he just renewed the contract Jurgen Klopp is said to be looking to add another capable goalkeeper to give competition to Mignolet.
