Latest Liverpool news: Fans disagree with White’s tweet claiming Pepe makes Arsenal’s attack as strong as Liverpool’s
Nicolas Pepe finally made his switch from Lille and ended up at Arsenal.
The Gunners were one of the teams interested in the Ivorian winger but Liverpool were also linked with the 24-year-old (h/t Mirror).
Pepe was one of the stars in Ligue 1 last season scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists. The winger also helped Lille finish second in the league behind Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal have spent big on attackers recently with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining the club.
Pepe could be a great addition to the team under Unai Emery but Sky Sports’ Jim White tweeted that the Ivorian could be a great signing.
Pepe needs to gel with the squad
There is no denying the fact that Pepe is a talented playe but he hasn’t even featured for the Gunners yet.
The Ivorian needs to get accustomed to the Premier League, the country and the style that Arsenal deploy.
Liverpool’s attack has been tweaked each season by Jurgen Klopp and the fruits are there for all to see.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are two of the best wide men in the world while Roberto Firmino’s movement and intelligence is second to none.
Lacazette is 28 while Aubameyang is 30, while the Liverpool attackers are 27 and have played together for two seasons.
The trio of stars have performed well from day one and have scored goals for fun. They also helped us win the Champions League trophy last season and we finished second to Manchester City in the league by one point.
It will be interesting to see how Pepe performs at Arsenal with Lacazette and Auba beside him, but many Liverpool fans weren’t ready to believe that the trio would be better than the Liverpool stars.
