The German has been in great touch for Leipzig this season and the Reds want to sign a new forward in the winter window (h/t Daily Star).
The 23-year-old has 15 goals for Leipzig this season, but the youngster would have to be back-up if he were to join us.
The report claims that Werner would be behind the attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at the club.
Werner recently signed a new deal with the Bundesliga giants and is contracted with them till 2023.
Liverpool to make a big move in January?
The Reds don’t normally make big moves in January under Jurgen Klopp.
Virgil van Dijk is the only big player we signed during the winter window under the German, and it will be interesting to see if we make any moves in a couple of months.
The Reds are in a strong position in the Premier League and a few additions could keep us at the top of the table till the end of the season.
