Liverpool interested in move for Rangers youngster Leon King
Rangers youngster Leon King has rejected the club’s initial offer over a professional contract.
The 15-year-old is one of the brightest prospects at the Scottish giants, but they fear losing out on him (h/t Daily Record).
The Mail (h/t Daily Record) claims that Liverpool are ready to move for the youngster after the latest development.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Leipzig are also keen on the defender as Rangers are desperate to keep him at the club (h/t Daily Record).
Billy Gilmour is an example of things not working out for the Gers. The youngster left the Scottish giants to join Chelsea and has already featured under Frank Lampard.
King, for his part, is already part of Scotland’s U17 team and has immense potential too.
Liverpool have signed young players under Jurgen Klopp and it will be interesting to see if we can nab the defender too.
Young defenders on Liverpool’s books
The Reds already have a couple of quality youngsters who can play in defensive positions. Sepp van den Berg was bought in the summer while Ki-Jana Hoever has impressed as the right-back.
Liverpool can always do with quality young players coming in, and Klopp has a history of handing them chances to play.
