Liverpool open to sending Caoimhin Kelleher out on loan in January
Liverpool are open to sending Caoimhin Kelleher on loan in the winter window, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Irish youngster has played in two Carabao Cup games this season and has impressed in both outings.
However, games will be tough to come in the first-team for the 21-year-old. The keeper is below Adrian and Alisson in the pecking order and it makes sense to send him away on loan.
The report claims that Championship side Preston North End are interested in our keeper.
However, any move for the youngster depends on him getting playing time and if the move would be beneficial to the club (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The youngster could feature in our Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Aston Villa. Liverpool are set to play in the Club World Cup semi-final a day later, and we could split our squad over the two competitions.
Kelleher needs to play regularly
Sending him out on loan is a no-brainer as Kelleher needs to play first-team games. There are other players who have done well after moving away on loan, and some of them have sealed an exit too.
Ryan Kent impressed at Rangers before sealing a permanent move in the summer.
