Twitter goes crazy as James Pearce claims Liverpool are set to sign Takumi Minamino
Takumi Minamino has been one of the most impressive players in Europe this season.
The Japanese star has seven goals and three assists for RB Salzburg this season and scored against us at Anfield.
The 24-year-old can play out on the wing or as a False 9 and seems set for a big move away.
James Pearce of the Athletic tweeted that Minamino is a target for the Reds. The journalist claimed Serie A and Bundesliga clubs were also keen on the Japanese while Manchester United are keeping tabs on the star.
Pearce added that Minamino would be available for a paltry release clause of £7.25m too.
The former Liverpool Echo journalist added that the Reds could sign the Japanese star in January too.
Fans excited with possible signing
The attacking-midfielder impressed in the Champions League and put up a great showing against us.
Minamino could be the extra boost we need as Liverpool chase the Premier League crown and other titles too.
The Reds aren’t known for making big moves in January, but a cut-price deal for the 24-year-old might be too hard to resist.
Minamino would provide cover for several positions in the Liverpool attack, and it will be interesting to see if this deal is announced soon.
Many fans were excited at the possible signing in January, and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.
