Liverpool interested in Norwich duo Emiliano Buendia and Jamal Lewis
Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Norwich duo Emiliano Buendia and Jamal Lewis with a view to a double transfer. (h/t Mirror)
Both the players have been standout performers in a Norwich side that finds itself at the bottom of the table. Liverpool have, in the last few windows, picked up gems from relegated outfits and with Norwich seemingly on their way down, the trend looks set to continue.
Buendia was one of the standout performers in the Championship last season and has carried that form to the Premier League. The Argentine has bagged 7 assists this season, a tally bettered only by Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold. A player who can dribble and pass, he has been a thorn against most sides this season.
The Argentine has made sure that James Maddison’s departure hasn’t hit Norwich hard. Lewis, 21, has been a mainstay in the Norwich backline and has made 14 appearances for the Canaries this season.
With Liverpool lacking a specialist left-back to provide cover for Andrew Robertson, Lewis could find game time easier to come by. Norwich will not be keen on losing players of such calibre mid-season and the Reds will have to wait until the summer to work out a deal if any.

With Buendia and Lewis’ contracts running until 2024 and 2023 respectively, Norwich should be able to demand a hefty fee for the pair. However, it will strengthen Liverpool’s hand if Norwich get relegated at the end of the season.
