Liverpool continues to be linked with the superstar striker. Mbappe’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been called into question given his frosty relationship with manager Thomas Tuchel.
The 21-year-old would command a world-record fee for any transfer to take place. The chances of Liverpool paying over the odds for the striker are unlikely, given Klopp’s comments about French players being too expensive.
The Reds are flying high at the moment and are one of the best destinations in the world for a player right now.
Wright believes that the Reds position in the footballing hierarchy today makes them an attractive proposition for any player.
“If I’m Mbappe, I probably am looking at Liverpool. Where else do you want to go, if you’re Mbappe now?”
Journalist Melissa Reddy touched upon the topic in her article in the Independent. She reported that Liverpool will not pay over the odds for a player they do not really need. (h/t Independent)
