Liverpool transfer target Dusan Vlahovic responds to exit speculations

Speaking to Serbian magazine MozzartSport (h/t Daily Star), Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is a transfer target for Liverpool, has responded to the speculations surrounding his future ahead of the summer window.

Vlahovic came through the youth ranks at Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade before making the switch to Fiorentina in 2018. While he has been a regular for the Viola, it was only during the 2020/21 campaign that the 21-year-old well and truly blossomed.

Indeed, Vlahovic managed to produce a handsome return of 21 goals in 37 Serie A outings for Fiorentina, standing out as their best player in a season that was largely disappointing.

Vlahovic’s rise to prominence in Florence has now put him on the radars of a number of top clubs, including Liverpool. The striker, though, has insisted that he does not pay attention to all the speculations but is, instead focused on his career with Fiorentina.

“I try not to read the rumours. Of course, I open websites to see the main news. But I don’t read the news about me and I skip it right away. I am just concentrating on football. I learned that it is important to rest as much as train.

“Alright, you also have to go out and give yourself a break. We are all humans. But now I am interested in resting as best as I can for the coming season. I see myself at Fiorentina, I have two more years of contract and on 7th July, I will be there for the [pre-season] roll-call.”

More Liverpool News:

Following a season wherein Liverpool were over-reliant on Mohamed Salah for the goods in front of goal, it only makes sense that the club brings in a new striker, given as Roberto Firmino underwhelmed and Divock Origi does not have a future at the club. But, judging by Vlahovic’s comments, he seems intent on staying put at Fiorentina for the time being.
