Liverpool dealt with transfer blow as Haaland provides a subtle hint about a move this summer
Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland has provided an update about any potential move this summer amidst interest from Liverpool & Chelsea.
The Norwegian has been on the radar of the Reds all summer, with Jurgen Klopp looking to add more firepower to this Liverpool side.
The forward has been in sensational form since he joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, having scored 57 goals and 15 assists in the same period.
Thus, Haaland has been valued at nearly £172million this summer by the German outfit, making it nearly impossible for any club to sign him in this transfer window.
Speaking to a media press conference at Dortmund’s training camp, Haaland explained that he has not talked to his agent Mino Raiola for quite a while.
“Before yesterday I hadn’t spoken with my agent [for] one month, so you have the answer”.
Haaland also talked about his future at Dortmund.
“First of all, I have three years left on my contract.
“I’m enjoying my time here. But of course, the trophy was important because that’s what I want.”
Thus, Erling Haaland might remain at Borussia Dortmund over the course of this season, in what seems to be a transfer blow for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. However, Erling Haaland does seem to have a £65million release clause in his contract that will allow him to leave next season. If Liverpool remain interested, they could move for him again next summer.
The Reds have also been linked with Ismaila Sarr, Donyell Malen, and Federico Chiesa over the summer as they look to strengthen their attacking options to challenge in all competitions again this season.
