Trent Alexander-Arnold praises Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliot

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold recently sat down with The Athletic for an interview. The right-back was full of praise for Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliot.

According to him, the duo has “frightening” potential to build upon. Both have impressed the Liverpool right-back so far.

“I think I’ve got a really good bond with the pair of them. Kaide has so much potential; it’s frightening, really. Same with Harvey. Going out last season and getting experience has been good for him. Hopefully this season he’ll get some more minutes under his belt and try and establish himself as part of the first-team set-up.”

The Champions League winner suggests that he is trying to be a mentor to the duo. He is using the example of how Jordan Henderson helped him during his early years.

“Hendo tried to lead by example and show me the way. Everything I do is trying to set the example for them, just as Hendo did for me.

On Gordon and Elliot

Kaide Gordon is only 16 years old. He is often played as a right winger. However, he can also start as an attacking midfielder. He is a product of Derby County’s youth setup. Liverpool signed him during the January transfer window earlier this year.

Harvey Elliot is often praised by fans as someone who can burst into the senior squad. The 18-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan with Blackburn Rovers. However, he has spent the pre-season with Liverpool. The youngster is in line to spend the 21/22 season with the senior squad.
