Liverpool kept their hopes of winning the Premier League title alive with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. David Moyes’ side had set up to defend mostly and the home side struggled to break down the away team.
There was more bad news for the Merseyside club as Philippe Coutinho had to be stretchered off in the first half but his replacement, Divock Origi, opened the scoring in the 75th minute. It wasn’t an easy game for the Reds and the points were only safe in the 90th minute when Sadio Mane won a penalty.
James Milner scored the second and ensured three points and a win for the side. Liverpool now have to wait on news about Coutinho’s injury and the next game they play is in the EFL Cup against Leeds United.
Jurgen Klopp would be looking to give a run out to some of the other players at the club for that game and we look back at the win and share the best Twitter updates.

Karius made some really crucial saves coming off his line today, by far his best performance in a Liverpool shirt. Encouraging signs.
