Liverpool’s hopes of winning some silverware this season are all but over after they were knocked out by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup. Jurgen Klopp did put out a mixed side of experience and youth but it did not pay off as Paul Lambert’s side ran out deserving winners in the end.
Goals from Richard Stearman and Andreas Weimann gave the Wolves a 2-0 lead in the first half. A host of changes in the second half saw Liverpool dominate possession but they couldn’t break the side down until the 86th minute as Divock Origi scored.
That was not enough as the Championship side ensured Liverpool lost their third home game in a row. This loss also ensured the Reds have only won one game in 2017 and that too came against lowly Plymouth.
Jurgen Klopp took responsibility for the loss and the Reds have to rejuvenate themselves as they face Chelsea in the Premier League, we look back at the best Twitter reactions and updates from the shock loss.
