Transfer News: Juventus have entered the race to sign Liverpool target Serge Gnabry
According to Liverpool Echo, Italian giants Juventus have shortlisted Liverpool target Serge Gnabry as a replacement for Paulo Dybala.
Serge Gnabry’s overall output for Bayern has been sensational in recent seasons. Even though it’s challenging to outshine Robert Lewandowski, Gnabry has played an influential role for his team, bagging 14 goals and ten assists in 38 appearances.
Gnabry has come into Liverpool’s radar in recent times. However, the Reds haven’t made any direct approaches until now for the signature of the German star.
Now it is believed that Juventus have joined Liverpool in the race. The Italian giants are uncertain about Paulo Dybala’s stay at the club. Hence in an attempt to secure Gnabry as a replacement, they are eying to offer a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Can Liverpool secure Serge Gnabry’s signature?
Gnabry has played in both wings this season and has excelled in his role to dribble past defenders using his elegant movement. His versatile ability would give Jurgen Klopp options which are in shortage currently because of the lack of depth in the right-wing position.
The 26-year-old has prior experience playing in England with Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion, which would help him settle in at Anfield without much trouble.
Mohamed Salah’s contract is still not settled. Thus, it would be best for Liverpool to prepare their own backup plan if the Egyptian star decides to move away.

However, if Juventus’ interest is genuine, then Liverpool might have to face excessive competition in the race. The Italian giants’ recent purchase of € 70million-rated Dusan Vlahovic implies that they are financially strong.
It remains to be seen where Gnabry’s interest lies. However, the Liverpool board should prepare themselves for a financial battle if they aspire to go head-to-head against Juventus in the market.
