It has been one hell of a season for Liverpool so far.

The Reds are firmly in contention for a historic quadruple on the back of a sensational run of form in 2022, while they are already making plans for the future.

Liverpool eye up historic quadruple

Liverpool defeated Chelsea in February’s EFL Cup grand final following a nail-biting penalty shoot-out to acquire their first trophy in the competition since 2011/12.

Jurgen Klopp’s men could lift their first FA Cup title since 2005/06 if they can deliver the goods against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the semi-finals.

Pep Guardiola’s men are also the only obstacle standing between the Reds and their second Premier League triumph in three years.

Liverpool trail table-topping Cityzens by a single point ahead of their top-table six-pointer at the Etihad Stadium this weekend and are winless in their last four league H2Hs.

The upcoming showdown comes at an opportune moment for the Merseysiders as they head into proceedings having won their last ten Premier League matches in a row.

Sunday’s fixture in Manchester will have a significant bearing on the title, and could also determine the course of Liverpool’s season, depending on the outcome.

A victory would see the Reds leapfrog City at the summit, which could sway Klopp to sacrifice the FA Cup pursuit for the greater good.

If the Reds steal the Premier League title away, much of the credit will go to Mohamed Salah, who has enjoyed another stellar season.

The Egyptian dynamo is on the verge of winning the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in five years.

Salah leads the way in the top-scorer race, having racked up a stunning 20 goals and ten assists, six more goals than Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min.

Regardless of Liverpool’s bid to dethrone Guardiola’s side, they are unlikely to give up their hopes of winning their seventh Champions League crown.

Salah and co already have one foot in the semi-finals after cruising to a 3-1 win away to Benfica in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

With Bayern Munich not having the best of times, as witnessed by their 1-0 first-leg loss at Villarreal and City holding a slender lead over Atletico Madrid, Liverpool’s path to success could clear out already in the last eight.

We back Klopp’s high-flyers to win at least two more titles this season.

Expected transfers

Liverpool are long-term admirers of Watford’s speed demon Ismaila Sarr, who has received the go-ahead from the Hornets to depart Vicarage Road in the summer.

Despite completing Luis Diaz’s mega-money deal in January, the Reds are keen to further add to their attacking department in the upcoming transfer window, particularly in light of Roberto Firmino’s drop-off.

Sarr ticks many of the boxes for the type of player Klopp is looking to recruit ahead of the new season. He could also be available for a reasonable price, especially if Watford suffer relegation from the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Reds are ‘closing in’ on Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho after a failed attempt to lure him to Anfield in January.

The Merseyside outfit will reportedly fork out around £7.7m to land the prodigious youngster at the end of the season.

In other , the Reds are among several clubs that have been linked with Borussia Dortmund rising star Jude Bellingham, who could return to his homeland in the summer.

The 18-year-old teenager has gone from strength to strength since swapping Birmingham City for the Signal Iduna Park in 2020, developing into one of the best-performing midfielders in the Bundesliga.

However, Dortmund are known for getting the most out of their stars’ sales, meaning Bellingham’s price tag could blow Liverpool out of the water.
