Mohamed Salah has provided an update on his contract talks with Liverpool
Speaking to FourFourTwo as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Mohamed Salah has provided an update on his contract talks with Liverpool insisting that it is not all about the money.
The 29-year-old winger has been sensational for the Reds since joining from AS Roma in 2017 showing levels of consistency that had elevated him to superstardom at Anfield.
The Egyptian is undoubtedly Liverpool’s talisman and is arguably the Reds’ most important player this season. A case can also be made for the forward for being the best player in the world this season.
Having yet to pen a new deal with the Reds, there is a fear among Liverpool supporters that their talisman might run down his contract and Salah himself has come out in the public to clarify his future.
” I don’t know, I have one year left. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it’s not everything about the money at all. This club means a lot to me – I’ve enjoyed my football here more than anywhere, I gave the club everything and everybody saw that. I’ve had a lot of unbelievable moments here, winning trophies, individual goals, individual trophies. It’s like a family here.”
Stay?
Salah’s importance to Liverpool is immense. He is by far the most important player in a team of superstars and has been brilliant this season, already having 30 goals and 12 assists in 42 matches across all competitions this campaign.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that a solution is found to the Salah saga as soon as possible, and more so a conclusion that is favourable for him and the Reds.
Salah is a Liverpool legend and rightly so. LFC fans adore Mohamed Salah. By holding out for a new contract and potentially leaving for free, he is in danger of tarnishing his legacy at Merseyside.
Reds will be hoping that their talisman decides to stay. It remains to be seen how the Reds approach the Salah contract saga.

Do they give in to keep their best player at the clubs at all costs or have a look at the past and consider how they have coped when they have sold their best player back then Philippe Coutinho back in 2018 and decide to stand firm on their stance is a question left to be answered.
Ideally, we are hoping both parties are able to achieve a middle ground that is comfortable for both parties.
