Liverpool star Mohamed Salah says he is the best in the world in his position
Speaking to beIN Sports (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has claimed that he is ‘the best’ in the world in his position. The Egyptian superstar’s comments can’t be faulted in that regard.
He is one of the most feared attackers in England and has consistently been one of Liverpool’s most valuable players since his move from AS Roma in 2017. And the ex-Chelsea star believes there is no one better than him in his position in the world:
“If you compare me with any player in my position, not only in my team but in the world, you will find that I am the best. I always focus on my work and do my best and my numbers are the best proof of my words.”
Someone take the mic off Salah, immediately. He can’t be faulted for speaking what, for many, is the truth but it isn’t a good look on every player to make such big claims ahead of a very important few weeks.
Salah openly revealed his desire of wanting Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final when we beat Villarreal in the second leg of the semi-final, and then posted a tweet that said ‘we have a score to settle’ once Los Galacticos completed a comeback win against Manchester City.
A tad too confident?
But after that, he proceeded to drop some of the most underwhelming performances we have seen from him this season. He was especially poor against Tottenham Hotspur and his decision making, especially in the second half, was woeful. The same pattern was seen when he came on against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
But perhaps these comments are a show of confidence from the Liverpool superstar- one that may make LFC fans believe that they truly have a winner in their squad who will go the extra mile to get a goal and win his team the game.
However, Salah seems to have been out of form for a while now. Sure, he may be getting the odd goal and assist here and there, but after AFCON, Liverpool fans would tell you that he can certainly do better on the pitch.

It is best if he does his talking on the pitch now, otherwise he could be made to eat his words if he fails to turn up and the Reds somehow manage to lose both finals and the PL trophy this month.
