Aurelien Tchouameni gives verdict on transfer links to Liverpool, PSG, and Real Madrid in latest interview
Aurelien Tchouameni has been on the transfer radars of Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks. And in an interview with French TV channel TeleFoot (h/t Liverpool Echo), he gave his verdict on where he could be playing next season.
The 22-year-old French star revealed that he is not averse to being linked with top clubs, because that means he is doing something right as a footballer. A regular for AS Monaco and a full France international, Tchouameni is certainly on the right path.
“I’m not troubled by that (rumours), because it’s a position I’ve always wanted to be in. As long as I’m followed by the top clubs, that means I’m doing good things.”
Journalist Julien Maynard (h/t Liverpool Echo) then proceeded to ask him if the player had made a decision on his next decision. Tchouameni replied with a simple “not yet”. This would somewhat please Liverpool fans.
Real Madrid have looked like favourites to land the former Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder but if he is yet to decide on his future, then perhaps the Reds stand a chance. Players like Tchouameni don’t come around too often.
Where to next, Aurelien?
A strong presence in defence, the young midfielder is also a neat operator when in possession. James Milner is fast approaching the end of his career while Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara, however brilliant they may be, aren’t getting any younger.
A young midfielder would do us a world of good and Tchouameni would certainly be a smart addition. But it’s not an easy task to sign a young talent when teams like Madrid and PSG are involved.

This looks like a deal that may not be the easiest one to complete. However, our board must understand just how much a player of Tchouameni’s quality can future-proof our somewhat ageing midfield.
