Liverpool are planning on moving for other targets as Julian Brandt isn’t sure of leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. The German winger has been tracked extensively by the Reds but the youngster has now stated that playing more games is more important to him rather than spending time on the bench.

Goal reports that the 21-year-old spoke with Focus regarding his move away from Leverkusen to another country.

“If you make the move, there is no guarantee that you’ll play.

“I believe that it’s important that I get a lot of games next season, and that is a given here at Leverkusen.”

Second time lucky for Liverpool

Salah was a liverpool target back in 2013

The Reds are now looking at one of their former targets who has had a pretty good season in Serie A. According to Goal, Mohamed Salah is the man that the Merseyside club want and the 24-year-old Egyptian certainly has done well with Roma having scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 28 Serie A games.

Many Liverpool fans will remember that Salah was expected to join Liverpool in 2013 but he chose to play for Chelsea. He did spend a couple of seasons at Stamford Bridge before moving away first on loan to Fiorentina before making a permanent move to Roma.

Liverpool do need quality out wide and Salah would certainly be a good option to have, especially since he would have something to prove to his former employers, Chelsea.

The Kop Times Verdict

The Reds have played a dynamic brand of football this season but without proper attackers out wide, they have struggled to break teams down. Salah does have a decent pace and can do a role similar to that of Sadio Mane but he wouldn’t be available on the cheap.

The Egyptian has a contract at Roma till 2019 and the capital side will try everything they can to keep hold of a player that has become an integral part of the side since moving from England. Liverpool at least are keeping other options ready in case Brandt really doesn’t come and Salah wouldn’t be the worst player to have in the side next season.
