Villarreal set a new asking price for Liverpool target Yeremy Pino

Reports coming in from AS (h/t Liverpool Echo) mention that Villarreal have set a new asking price for Liverpool target Yeremy Pino this summer.

Pino has an €80m buyout clause in his contract that will run until the summer of 2027. However, a price of around €40-50m should be enough to prise the player away from the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool have maintained an interest in the Spanish international. Whether they will now make their move to land him remains to be seen.

It is difficult to see Liverpool meet the player’s release clause. The club have traditionally played their cards close to their chest and have only in extreme cases opened up the cheque book.

At the new price of €40m, Liverpool could possibly get value for money as it is more or less a cut-price deal. With Arsenal also on the lookout, it remains to be seen if Liverpool will take advantage of this opportunity.

The 19-year-old is capable of playing on either wing. He can prove to be a good addition to Liverpool’s already potent attack, adding depth and hunger to a new look front three. With 14 goals and five assists in 77 appearances for Villarreal, he is one of Europe’s brightest talents and has considerable experience at the top level.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool should explore the opportunity of signing the 19-year-old, as he is available for a lower price. It could prove to be a bargain a few years down the line.
