Insider At Melwood: Liverpool To Sign Another Big Money Player In The Transfer Window

Liverpool haven’t rocked too many boats in the summer transfer window this season, even after breaking their transfer record for the signature of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian did seal a big money move from AS Roma and was seen as a coup for Jurgen Klopp and the side as they look to hit the next level this season.

We did also sign Dominic Solanke from Chelsea after the youngster decided not to renew his contract with the London club. But we have not been able to sign any big name players since Salah’s signature and have seen our moves for Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk hit major roadblocks.

The clubs of the two players are not willing to sell either of them and both have categorically ruled out any players leaving the side at all in the summer. That even saw us come out with a public apology where we stated that our interest in the Southampton defender, Van Dijk, is all but over.

However, a report from the Liverpool Echo claims that we are actually set to sign someone who will blow away the supporters’ minds. The report says that an insider at Melwood has claimed that a big signing is imminent and it will be interesting to see which player it actually is and if any deal does take place at all.

We have seen a number of such reports come and go and it isn’t a surprise that some random person has claimed that we will sign someone big, but with us being linked with players such as Kylian Mbappe and Timo Werner, there still could be some surprises in the window.

Over the years, we haven’t really seen a lot of big money signings come in but with the presence of Jurgen Klopp and Champions League football, we do have a real chance of bringing in more talent.

There is also the question of FSG spending the right amount of money, especially with a lot of big money moves being made at all the clubs in the Premier League.

We have a real chance of doing well next season and build upon a decent enough first complete season under Klopp. But if we don’t get the right players, all the good work done so far will be lost and we will lose major ground on the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and even Arsenal.
