Liverpool keeping tabs on Ghanian youngster Kamaldeen Sulemana
According to Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool FC are eyeing a move for Stade Rennais’ 20-year-old Ghanian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana. He has been dubbed as the ‘new Sadio Mane’ in the media in France.
The player is extremely versatile and can play all of the forward roles in Liverpool’s formation. Primarily though, Sulemana is a left-winger. In 37 appearances for Rennais, he has six goals and four assists.
He played for FC Nordsjaelland earlier in his career though. In 43 appearances for the Danish team, he amassed a total of 14 goals and eight assists. Additionally, Sulemana also has 11 caps for his country Ghana as well. This counts as a lot of experience for a player of his age.
The youngster got off to a good start this campaign too. In 10 games across all competitions this season, Sulemana has scored one goal and has two assists to his name as well.
He is under contract at Rennais until the summer of 2026. Sulemana is proving to be an extremely capable asset for the French side, and the club could cash in on him in the coming summer given Liverpool’s interest in the player.
Presently, the Reds are not short of attacking prowess. Diogo Jota recently made the return from an injury layoff and has bolstered gaffer Jurgen Klopp’s options. Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez and Jota constitute the Reds’ attacking options this season.
Younger options in Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho can also play the advanced role as and when the situation demands. Spending money to buy a player only for him to sit on the bench more often than not is not the need of the hour exactly.
Liverpool have enough prowess in attack, and it would be wise if the club rather moves for a midfielder. The options in the middle of the park have largely disappointed and a wholesale revamp is needed.

Even though he is compared to a former Red in Sadio Mane due to his style of play, that would not warrant enough a case for the club to invest in the player. Nevertheless, he is a great talent, and a move for Sulemana sometime in the future could be possible.
