Liverpool might have Andy Robertson fit for Rangers clash

According to the Times, Liverpool are set to have a welcome boost for the game against Rangers with long-time absentee Andy Robertson set to return to the fold after regaining his fitness.

Liverpool have missed Robertson for quite some time now. Although Kostas Tsimikas has performed admirably well during his time as the deputy in the left-back position, the Scottish defender’s return could not have come sooner.

Liverpool have struggled to get going at all this season. They have not been able to show the kind of form that they have been known for all these years and Jurgen Klopp is not able to find solutions.

It is not that the German tactician has not tried things. He has tried to switch around the formation and shake a few things up to no avail and there seems to be no way to get out of this for the Reds.

In their most recent clash against Liverpool, the Reds lost 2-3 to a resurgent Arsenal side. The bad things did not end there for Klopp’s side though with both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz ruled out due to an injury.

Considering all this, the return of Andy Robertson will come as a welcome boost, as Times have claimed.

“A sliver of good news has come with the return to training of Andrew Robertson. Robertson was put through his paces on Monday after four weeks on the sidelines with a knee problem.”

It remains to be seen how much Robertson is involved in the game against the Scottish giants but it seems highly unlikely that Klopp chooses to play him from the start and risk a relapse of the injury.

Tsimikas has done a pretty good job at replacing Roberston and should be expected to do the same against the Rangers. Robertson can always be an option off the bench if Jurgen Klopp needs to shuffle things.
