Liverpool join Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to land Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro
The list of midfielders Liverpool desire and want to bring to Anfield next summer does not seem to end. The latest entrant in that list is La Liga 2 outfit Las Palmas’ midfielder Alberto Moleiro.
The 19-year-old is an attacking midfielder and was part of the Las Palmas’ youth setup and has gradually grown into his role with the first team in the second tier of Spanish football. Moleiro is a highly versatile player and can occasionally don the role of a winger on either flank as well.
As per the Spanish publication AS (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool, apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid show interest in the player. Reportedly, the recruitment team at Kirkby have a good report on Moleiro.
In 51 appearances for the club, the player has 3 goals and 4 assists. The youngster has also played for the youth teams of Spain and has a goal for the U19s. Moleiro often plays out wide on the left wing under new manager Garcia Pimienta.
Moleiro could move to Merseyside
Even though he is naturally a number 10, his ability to play out on the wings is something suitors in the Premier League, like Liverpool, would value a lot. The Reds’ gaffer Jurgen Klopp has a liking for versatile players, and Moleiro just fits the bracket.
However, in the period of transition Liverpool are in right now, a much more proven player, at least among the top five leagues would suit the club better. Players like Ismael Bennacer and Jude Bellingham are European standard talents and could possibly suit the Reds better than Moleiro would do.
However, one could never rule out anything in football and Moleiro could possibly move to the Reds, and form a partnership in a midfield for the future alongside Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho.

His balance of a pacy player and a controlled passer is something any team would fancy, and hopefully, if the chances arise, Liverpool could sign Moleiro in the future over Barcelona and Real Madrid.
