Liverpool show interest in signing Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey
The latest report by Jeunes Footeux (h/t Liverpool Echo) discusses Liverpool’s interest in signing 23-year-old French defender Sacha Boey from Galatasaray. The former Rennes player has made 13 appearances across competitions this season, providing a solitary assist in the process.
The Frenchman is also a regular feature for the Youth Sides of France and is now creating a name for himself in the Turkish top tier after securing a transfer from Rennes. It has been enough to attract attention from Merseyside.
Liverpool’s interest in the player comes at a time when there is no immediate need for reinforcement in the position Boey plies his trade at. The Reds have just enough backup to provide for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Calvin Ramsay has been impressive in the little that he has played for the Reds after joining from Aberdeen earlier this summer and promises to be a huge talent for the Merseysiders in the long term.
Boey interest from Liverpool
Moreover, up-and-coming talent from the academy in the form of Oludare Onufunwa and Josh Davidson will hope to make their mark and establish themselves in the first team in the coming years as well.
James Milner has been turning up in the right-back position in a number of games for the Reds this season, and for him, the club will need an ideal replacement. However, from a personal perspective, the need to reinforce that position does not come as an absolute necessity at the moment.
Liverpool have certainly been struggling in the midfield department for the entirety of this season, and all available resources should ideally be channelled towards bringing a new player into the middle of the park.

Missing out on Boey to Real Madrid will not be a catastrophe for the Reds. As long as they can reinforce the midfield and maybe add another attacker to the midst, the team should be well-equipped across the board to continue their challenge at the top.
