Unai Emery confident of Aston Villa’s chances in the game against Liverpool

Speaking in a press conference as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is confident of his side’s chances in the game against Liverpool on boxing day.

Liverpool take on Aston Villa to restart their Premier League campaign after the break. Both teams will be hoping to make a winning start. It remains to be seen who manages to come out on top that day.

Liverpool come into this game on the back of a 2-3 loss to Manchester City in the Carabao cup and will be hoping to make amends. It will not be easy against a resurgent Villa managed by Emery.

Emery has faced Liverpool as a manager many times before with Arsenal and Villarreal and except for once, he has always managed to end up on the losing side to Jurgen Klopp’s team on a number of occasions.

Unai Emery is very keen on setting the record straight. The Spanish manager is confident his side can overcome the German manager’s side as they have not been having the best of times this season.

Here is what Emery had to say regarding the game against Liverpool and what he expects from it.

“We won a very good match. Since then, I lost. I haven’t won again – sometimes a draw with Arsenal – but it’s always a very difficult match against them. If we get our best performance, I think we can do it”
