Liverpool-linked midfielder Jude Bellingham is ready for a move to Real Madrid
According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague while speaking to ITV (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is ready for a move to Real Madrid.
Bellingham’s rise since his move to Borussia Dortmund has been nothing short of sensational. It was rounded off with the midfielder playing a key role in England’s run in the FIFA World Cup.
Many speculate that the player would leave Dortmund at the end of the season with many top clubs from Europe interested in attaining his signature.
Liverpool have made Bellingham one of the primary targets to revitalise an ageing midfield. However, they face a stern test to convince him, especially if there is no UEFA Champions League football to offer.
Now, according to Balague, Real Madrid have taken a lead over Liverpool with the player wanting a move to the sunny Spanish capital rather than the cold Merseyside nights.
“[Real] are favourites, quite clearly. Borussia Dortmund have to have a conversation with the player, and with his dad, who is key to the solution of this situation.
They’ve always been very aware about where to place him, and where to place him next. He is ready for Real Madrid. Real Madrid are ready for him.”
This would come as a huge blow to Jurgen Klopp and co. as it was one of the main factors behind not pursuing other midfield targets this summer window and ended up with Arthur Melo on a loan deal from Juventus.
It would also mark the second time that Liverpool have been beaten by Real Madrid (not counting the Champions League final) in acquiring the signature of one of the most prized assets in European football after they signed Aurien Tchoumeni this summer.
Klopp was keen to bring Tchouameni to Anfield, who starred for France at the FIFA World Cup but was left red-faced when Madrid came calling.

Hence, we should be wary of the interest that Madrid are showing in Bellingham and do everything in our power to convince the player to snub the Spanish giants and move to England.
One of the main factors, as mentioned above, would be whether we secure Champions League football or not, hence making the second half of the season extremely crucial.
