Chris Sutton believes Liverpool are in a moment of uncertainty and need a massive overhaul
Former England player Chris Sutton, while speaking to BBC Radio5 Live (h/t Liverpool Echo) believes Liverpool are in a moment of uncertainty and needs a massive overhaul.
It has been a disastrous season so far for us and rather surprising considering we were competing for an unprecedented quadruple just last season.
Injuries have played a part but in general, our performances have been way below par with the standard set in past seasons.
Currently 10th in the league, there is a strong possibility that we might miss out on a top-four finish come to the end of the season. Sutton believes that the team needs a massive overhaul of the entire structure in place.
“I think the biggest problem at Liverpool is there is uncertainty which is filtering through the whole club.
There’s uncertainty with the owners, uncertainty in terms of the way they are performing on the pitch and there has to be uncertainty over Jurgen Klopp and I’m not saying he should be sacked in any way shape or form. He has plenty of credit in the bank.”
Considering that now individuals are willing to talk about whether Jurgen Klopp should be sacked summarises the shocking state of the club currently.
Klopp has done wonders with what he has been provided by the Board over the past seven seasons and although results and performances have not been going in our favour, Klopp is still the right man to lead us forward.
The reason we are talking about a drop in standard is thanks to the high standards which were brought to the club by the German himself.
It is true that there could be many factors which play a part to denote the reason behind our current state and the uncertainty surrounding the ownership is one big factor.
As long as the situation of who will be in charge of the club in the coming years is not clear, not many will have an idea of the direction the club wants to take.

Liverpool are in a mess right now and could potentially see our spiral down more but with the credit in the bank that Klopp has secured deservedly, he definitely should be given time to bring back the good fortunes of the club.
