Liverpool have been told that they must pay €80m to sign Cagliari duo, according to a report. The Reds are hot on the tails of two highly-touted Cagliari starlets. Italian under-19 star Nicolo Barella and North Korean striker Han Kwang-Song have rocketed to the top of the Merseysiders’ wish-list of young players.

With Juventus also reportedly interested, Liverpool have been told to stump up their offer in order to bring the talented young pair to Anfield, according to Calciomercato.

According to the report, Cagliari want €80million for the pair, with the Sardinian club valuing Barella at €50million and Han at a staggering €30million. The valuation apparently hasn’t gone down well with Jurgen Klopp, who had hoped that the pair could be captured at a combined €35-40million. It seems like Liverpool are ready to look elsewhere.

The Reds are looking to strengthen their squad after selling Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142m earlier this month. However, Klopp previously hinted the club are not in a hurry to part with their cash.

“I don’t think about money. Nobody told me that I have to think about money because we are always reasonable, we always try to do the right thing,” Klopp was quoted by Goal.

“Obviously we don’t hesitate to spend the money, we did a few times, but it is not about the moment, it is about making the right decision.

“If anything obviously right would be there in the window then nobody would not do it and we say, OK, let’s go for it. But it is not about doing something to cool the situation down or show the people we don’t sleep. It is only about right or wrong and at this moment in this situation it is right.”

After the words of our gaffer, it is certain that we won’t go for a high-profile player in the winter transfer window. Klopp has addressed the major problem in our team – the defence, by signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton. Yes, Coutinho departed us and we need to replace him with a fantastic player. But for sure, that is not happening now as our manager looks happy with the current attackers at his disposal.

So, expect a busy summer in terms of the transfer window as Klopp would then look to bring in a few players to strengthen the current squad.
