Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp nonplussed with sideline suspension against Aston Villa
According to BBC, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on the two-match ban handed to him by the FA following his post-match comments after the 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds’ boss has been handed a two-match ban along with a £75,000 fine. The first sideline ban is to be implemented this weekend against Aston Villa, meaning the German will not be present in the Liverpool technical area vs Aston Villa.
Klopp confirmed that he will be in touch with his assistants and should occupy a spot in the stadium with a good vantage point. He went on to joke that his displeasure will be felt by the players should they slack off.
“Nobody will shout like me if they don’t track back in the 70th minute and this kind of things.”
The German is someone who makes lemonade when lemons are thrown at him and is keen to do so on Saturday. He believes the vantage point should give him a better understanding of how the game is being played out.
This should help him make better decisions and relay them to his assistants on the sideline. The trio of Pepijn Lijnders, Vitor Matos, and Peter Kraweitz are able deputies and should handle the affairs on the night.
“I can watch the game from a better position and be in contact with my coaches.”
Klopp is not someone who is likely to go down without a punch and took a swipe of sorts regarding his financial penalty. He went on to insinuate that he hopes the fine is attributed to a good cause and he will only pay it if that is the case.
“If it does, I’m happy to pay it. If it doesn’t, we need to talk again.”
It is good to see that Klopp is unwilling to take the FA’s antics lying down. It is fair to say that it is not just he who is interested to know how the fine will be used.

This is the second time this season that Klopp will serve a touchline ban. He did so earlier this season against Southampton at Anfield. We went on to win the game 3-1 and hope the clash against Aston Villa will go the same way.
