Liverpool to pounce for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch should an opportunity arise
Fabrizio Romano, while speaking to GiveMeSport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool will be in the market for FC Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch if he is available for a transfer.
Graverberch joined Bayern from Ajax last summer but has seen reduced game time and many predict that the young Dutchman might shift teams in search of more playing time.
Fabrizio admits that Liverpool are one of the teams that would be interested in acquiring the services of the midfielder if there is an opportunity for a transfer.
“They don’t want to negotiate at this stage, so if at some point this summer, Bayern will decide to put him on the market and to negotiate, Liverpool will be there for sure.
Otherwise, I think it’s going to be complicated because, as of today, Bayern have no intention of opening talks.”
Gravenberch was one of the highly-rated prospects coming out of Ajax and while his stock has fallen down due to very few appearances, there is no doubt of the high ceiling that the player possesses.
Still only 21, he has the potential to become a top midfielder and under the guidance of a top coach in Jurgen Klopp, it could just be the catalyst he needs to reignite his career.
The only issue coming for a transfer would be that his current contract with Bayern expires in June 2027 and hence Bayern are in a position to demand a huge fee.
Adding to that, there have been claims that the German club are keen to keep hold of their midfielder and see him as part of the long-term project.
