Liverpool are set to offer star attacker Mohamed Salah a bumper new deal, according to reports. Salah only joined Liverpool on a five-year deal last summer from AS Roma and now earns around £90,000-a-week. He has quickly become a key player under Jurgen Klopp this season.
His sensational form has already seen him get heavily linked with a summer move to European champions Real Madrid. The Egyptian has scored 30 goals in 36 games in all competitions till date and the Reds are seemingly keen to secure his long-term future and fend off potential suitors by putting a new deal on the table.
As per the Mirror, Liverpool are set to reward Salah for his breathtaking performances by offering him a bumper new deal before the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has been in hot form since the start of this campaign. The jet-heeled attacker has scored all kinds of goals in his short-stay with the Merseyside-outfit. He has become a vital cog in Liverpool’s machine, netting 30 goals so far to help the club continue their challenge for the Champions League and a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Salah’s goals have been complemented by Roberto Firmino’s 21. Sadio Mane, who is also in line for a bumper new contract, has already netted 12 in all competitions, with his first Liverpool hat-trick coming very recently against FC Porto in the Champions League.
Salah’s stock has seen an incredible rise since he joined Liverpool from Roma. The Egyptian, despite scoring 30 goals, has vowed to continue his form in front of goal.
“It is a great feeling to have scored 30 goals in a first season at a club like Liverpool,” he told Liverpool’s official website.
“It’s something huge, so I am very happy about it. But I have to carry on and keep looking forward to score many more goals. In my mind I am always trying to improve and I’m doing it every single day. Every day I look at myself and try to improve myself all the time.
“I am happy at the moment, I feel good, and that’s the most important thing — and 100 percent, there is still more to come.”
Indeed, there is still a lot more to come from the gifted attacker, who will now have the target to get past the 40-goal mark by the end of this campaign.
