Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Everton In The Premier League

After taking a firm grip on their Champions League quarter-finals by tearing Manchester City apart 3-0 in the first-leg at Anfield on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp takes his side to Everton for the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

The comprehensive win at Anfield has given Klopp a commanding advantage over City ahead of the second leg next week. This could see the Liverpool manager field a strong side against Everton to keep pushing for a top-four finish this season.

Everton haven’t won against Liverpool since 2010 and Klopp would hope his boys continue their long unbeaten run against their bitter rivals.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Loris Karius (GK)

Karius has performed very well between the sticks for the Reds since being named as the club’s No.1. He must start at Goodison Park.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster has been extremely impressive for the Reds this season. With Gomez injured and Nathaniel Clyne having just returned from a long injury-layoff, expect Alexander-Arnold to start again.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Lovren was very good against City in the Champions League and will be hoping to produce another dominant performance at the weekend.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Since Van Dijk joined the club in January, the Reds have found a leader to organise their defence. A leader at the back, the Dutchman has been solid and will be a threat during set-pieces.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Robertson is a player full of vigour and energy, always raring to attack the opposition. He has left Alberto Moreno a long way behind in the race for a starting spot.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

Henderson did step up against City in the midweek, dishing out a top-drawer performance. It is one of his finest till date and on Saturday, he will be a vital player in guarding our defence.

James Milner (LCM)

Coming into the game on the back of a brilliant showing against City, Milner would be confident of making a mark against the Toffees. The veteran continues to be an important player for Klopp due to his versatility.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RCM)

Chamberlain was fabulous against City in the Champions League and had a goal to show for it. A sure starter on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino (RW)

Considering that Salah is a big doubt, Firmino could be moved to the right-wing. The Brazilian is used to playing on the wings so expect him to have no problems if he is handed a start in this position.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane has found his mojo back and looks threatening with the ball every single time. The Senegalese attacker has been strong and will be key against Everton.

Danny Ings (ST)

Given that a lot of pride is at stake, Klopp could hand Danny Ings a rare start ahead of the promising Dominic Solanke. Ings has been devoid of first-team opportunities at Liverpool and the game at Everton would be a huge opportunity for him.
