Richard Dunne makes Evan Ferguson Liverpool and Manchester United claim
Brighton’s rising star, Evan Ferguson, has been making quite an impression at the Amex Stadium under the guidance of manager Roberto De Zerbi. His performances have garnered attention from across the footballing world, including Liverpool.
Former Premier League defender Richard Dunne recently weighed in on Ferguson’s potential future, suggesting that a move to Liverpool could be on the horizon. However, it is important to know that the Reds have enough depth in their frontline at the moment. Having said that, any potential move for Ferguson would cost us a bomb, given the Seagulls’ pricing policy.
The best use of any available financial resources would surely be investing the same into the backline. The midfield depth issue, one of the biggest problems for the Reds in recent weeks, has now gone down a significant amount and the focus should now be to reinforce the defence.
Speaking of Ferguson, here is what Dunne told BoyleSports via ECHO on a potential move to Liverpool or Manchester United in the future:
“I’m sure Evan Ferguson would be delighted at the thought of playing for Liverpool and Manchester United as most Irish boys would dream of that!
“I think it’ll happen for him in the future, but he’s still learning his trade at the moment at Brighton. He’s in for some games, rested for others, and is still developing as a player.”
In 38 appearances for the Seagulls across all competitions, Ferguson has 14 goals and four assists to boot. This recognition of Ferguson’s need for further development underscores the importance of patience and continued growth in his young career. While he may have the ambition to play for Liverpool in the future, his current focus remains on honing his skills at Brighton.
Ferguson to the Reds?
Dunne believes that when the time is right, Ferguson will have his pick of the top clubs. Young talents like him are a rare find, capable of adapting to various positions on the field, making them highly sought after in the world of football.
For now, the move to Liverpool may still be on the horizon. However, as Ferguson continues to develop and showcase his talents, it won’t be long before the other bigwigs in the footballing world take notice.
The Reds, with our tradition of nurturing young talent, could be an attractive destination for the talented striker. However, at the time being, we have enough firepower in our attack.
